The FRANCIA Group is made up of three companies that produce mozzarella cheese.
The first company was founded in 1970 in the Commune of Pontinia (Latina).
Cows milk was processed at this location until 1987.
The factory now produces Campania Buffalo milk mozzarella and Buffalo milk ricotta, and is part of the DOP Campania Buffalo Milk Mozzarella Consortium. The company is ISO 9001 certified, and within about a year and a half will be IFS and BRC certified.
The second company has been in operation since 1987, and is located in the Commune of Sonnino (Latina). It was one of the first Italian cheese-making businesses to achieve ISO 9001 certification, with two test laboratories (also authorised by the Lazio regional authorities to carry out analysis for third parties), in which all the incoming raw materials (milk) and outgoing finished product are analysed.
The third factory, and the latest in order of date, was inaugurated in 2002 and is in Berlin, Germany.
The company is ISO 9001 certified, and also has IFS and BRC certification to export to the U.S. and English market, and it is also certified to produce KOSHER and HALAL food.

The FRANCIA GROUP declares that the products of its Italian sites, including Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, are made in the province of Latina, near Rome, in the Lazio Region.
In particular, the DOP recognition and the name ” Mozzarella di Bufala Campana ” is not just related to large areas of the Campania Region, but also extends its protection to other areas such as southern Lazio, Puglia and Molise.
In particular, the buffalo milk received and processed by us comes from farms that are located in the provinces of Latina, Frosinone and Rome (as shown in the map below).
As a further guarantee to consumers and customers, the Francia Group declares that all milk for cheese production is regularly inspected and certified, through a plan of self-control and under the supervision of national veterinary services, and fully complies with EU regulations, as well as the production regulations of the Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP .
Therefore, the products of the Francia Group are completely unconnected with issues of pollution of large areas of the Campania region, since all its raw materials (fresh milk, rennet and salt) do not come from these areas.
